Our venue, Wildacres Retreat, is a nonprofit conference center located atop Pompey’s Knob in McDowell County, NC. It provides a secluded and serene environment for nonprofit organizations, artists, writers, musicians, educators, and various groups seeking inspiration, collaboration, and personal growth.

Originally founded in the 1920's, the property changed ownership after financial struggles and was later acquired in 1936 by I.D. Blumenthal. Under the Blumenthal family's guidance, Wildacres transformed into a retreat dedicated to fostering human connection, creativity, and education.

Today, it hosts programs in arts, sciences, writing, music, and interfaith dialogue, staying true to its mission of promoting reflection, learning, and community building.
